Hi friends. Welcome to my new Fairy Garden site. This is where I’ll be sharing most of our fairy garden magic … so be sure to pop in often. Lots of enchantment will happen on these pages.
As you know, it is our family tradition for each of us to make a fairy garden in the summer.
This year, as I am in the midst of a succulent crush, I decided to make a cactus fairy garden terrarium so that I can enjoy my fairy garden inside the Sunny House throughout the year (plus, I couldn’t resist buying these sweet succulents from the garden shop the other day and had to find something to do with them.)
Isn’t it the cutest, most adorable little terrarium you’ve ever seen?
But do you see the sweet little felt and wire patio furniture inside. There is a little wire table and chair set. They are in the shape of mini succulent flowers and add so much magic and delight.
Today, I’ll show you how we made them with a step-by-step tutorial.
They are not difficult to make and you might even have all the materials on hand already.
Below, you can also see the felt and wire patio set in Kitty’s new fairy garden… it only took a day for her to steal them for herself (smile).

DIY Tutorial : How To Make a Wire and Felt Patio Set for your Fairy Garden
Materials :
- two five inch squares of felt in shades of green (Etsy.com)
- pliable wire (local hardware store)
- scissors, pliers and a hot glue gun.
-
-
First, we'll make the felt succulent chair cussion and table top.
-
With your scissors, cut the felt into a scalloped spiral. Like this...
-
To make the felt flower, start with the center of the scalloped spiral felt and roll it tightly.
-
Roll until your succulent cushion reaches the right size in diameter.
-
The chair cushion is 3/4 of an inch in diameter and the table top flower is 1.5 inches in diameter.
-
Cut and bend the wire according to the specifications above.
-
Twist the twirly legs around the seat frame. Twist the chair back around the seat frame.
-
So sweet and dainty, don't you think?
-
Glue the small succulent flower cushion in place.
-
Now for the wire table frame...
-
Cut and twist the pieces of wire to the specifications above.
-
Twist the twirly legs in place and glue the felt flower tabletop in place.
-
Voila… isn’t your little felt and wire patio set utterly adorable?!
But, beware, if you have little ones around, you would be advised to make a few sets as yours will be ‘stolen’ in no time at all.
