Hello my name is Serena. I am 17 years old and
I've loved fairies since I came to know about them when I came to
the U.S
When I was little I didn't know much about fairies
because no one ever told me about them, however, when I became 16
I decided to research about them and to collect fantasy stuff. One
day I was outside in the car while my mom was trying to find a parking
spot for the car, when suddenly I saw a bright blue aquamarine light
that was flying up along the trees and heading towards the forest
there is behind the apartment where we live which is very big has
some trees and its very mystical, but going back to the story....when
I saw the sparkly light flying up, I tought I was seeing like one
of those "bubbles" u see when u open your eyes in the
morning , I immideately told my mom to look at it but she said she
was busy trying to park the car. I closed my eyes and opened them
again very quickly and I could still see it flying !!! It kept flying
as slow and at the same time quickly like a butterfly and going
up in the trees, but I'm sure it wasn't a butterfly because it wasn't
even spring for insects and other animals to come out and a bird?......they
don't usually come out at night and if they do I don't think birds
glow in the dark ...so maybe it was a winter fairy.
Another time I remember seeing something was
when I stayed up late at night - past midnight - when finally I
finished researching, I closed my computer, when suddenly I turned
around to turn off a little lamp I have next to my computer when
suddenly i saw a big bubble with the corner of my eye full of light
in the inside and a dark shadow inside as if there was a little
person inside, but unfortunately when I tried looking with both
eyes it popped out and dissapeared!!! I was scared cause I was the
onlyone up that day since everyone was sleeping. The weird thing
was that after 3 weeks, I talked to my best two friends about it
and they told me that they had seen a bubble in the kitchen.

A young lady helps out a Fae...

I was writing in my room and I could hear these
frequent tapping noise like wings beating against glass. I followed
the sound and it led to my hair bobble box- so I put my ear right
by it. I was worried something like a fairy might be trapped inside
so a quickly took the lid off so it could escape. I got a feeling
that even though I didn't see anything- a fae type of creature flew
out the box. The tapping stopped as soon as I opened the lid.

Are the mountains of North Carolina home to a mystery?

I was very pleased to see the many sighting stories
from many continents of the world. I am a fellow faerie-believer,
although I am Christian, and I am right at fourteen years of age.
I have two sightings to report, both occuring at a friends house
on a very special mountain in NC.
The first occurance was on a night that we had
been running around on our very mystical mainstreet, and had come
home to play in the woods. After playing in the woods, my close
friend and I went inside at a late hour to sit and watch a Monty
Python movie, one of her favorites. I was drifting to sleep, not
really paying any attention to the movie, when suddenly out of the
corner of my eye I spotted a bright orange light in a small window.
I looked over and there were a large pair of orange, firey wings.
They were literally blazing as if they were burning. Also, there
were three or four smaller bright white wings floating around them.
I looked away a few times, yet each time I looked back, they were
still there. I pointed them out to my friend who claims she saw
them, too. Soon they were gone, though, and I drifted to sleep.
The second occurance was with the same friend
on a different day. We had once again been to main street and had
been running around the mountain. We came home very late to sit
on her porch. While we were star-gazing with incense burning and
candles a flame, there were suddenly several dozen bright, rapidly
blinking blue lights. They were fairly small, and very appealing.
At first I considered that they were fireflies, but their color
corrected my suggestion. I was very ammused at them. This time,
my friend really did see them, and speaking to them softly, one
perched just beside her head on the banister. We heard faint mumbling,
and a constant lullaby of mutters. It was a belief-altering experience.
Now I live on the same mountain as my friend,
and I have come to find a surging power running throughout the forest
here. There is a quaint little stream, and several witch circles
are formed in the trees. It is a very calming, relaxing place.

A frightening experience may very have been a visit from fairies!

I have always thought stories of fairies where
true but just until a couple of months ago I've been looking up
ways to gain their trust so they will let me see them.
I'm 17 right now but about 2 years ago I had
a very strange experience. My mom was at work, my dad was sleeping
and so was my brother. I was the only one in the living room and
I was waiting for a video to rewind I had just put in. I was sitting
on the couch, it was about 11 pm, I heard what sounded like little
kids laughing. I wasn't sure what to think at the time but it scared
me! I knelt down on the couch peering over the top of the arm.
I called my friend and told her but she didn't
believe me. I told her I thought it was ghosts. After reading some
of the other peoples sighting stories I realize that it was fairies.
There couldn't have been little kids about at that time of night...
I hope to make friends with some fairies soon.

A young woman and her friend find confirmation...

A few months ago my friend Fawn and I were outside
and saw a very bright yellow light. The light was round and was
as big as a softball. Looking at it gave my friend and I calm feelings.
It glowed and flew around us. Then it left.
A few weeks later I was in my backyard by a bush
and I heard a small voice say, "Hey girl". I looked around
but did not see anyone. I heard a giggle and then something flew
out of the bush.
I believe in fairies. So do my friends. I think
that's why my friends and I saw and heard fairies.

I love drawing pictures of fairies and Amy Brown
is my favorite fairy artist!
I've been reading all these fairy sightings,
and have been enchanted by them! Now when I see something a little
strange I will know that it could be a fairy. I haven't fully admitted
to myself that I believe in fairies because, as a Christian, I don't
know if it would be bad if I believed in them. Can anyone tell me
if it is okay to be a Christian and still be a fairy believer? I
might have had more than one encounter with a fairy. I'm not sure
if it was a fairy or not- but deep down I know it could be. My first
experience is very faint and it was in Texas. We had just moved
there and I was about 6. We lived in apartments and there were woods
behind and on one side of them behind the gates. On the one side
the gates were wood not metal and some boards were broken down.
Often my sisters and I would go on the other side of the gate to
look around. One day we went a little too far so were a little scared-
we weren't even supposed to be on the other side of the gate. We
found a little pathway it looked like curving around a small hill.
We approached the path but heard footsteps and got startled and
ran. Also a little myth was that there was a small cottage in the
woods behind the trees were a strange person lived. Maybe it was
a fairy?
The second encounter was much better. This encounter was in Germany!
For a school hinter brand trip we were to go far away to a place
and do fun stuff and learn. It was near beautiful mountains, forests,
paths, streams, and little waterfalls. One day I was going down
to the basement to put my shoes away when I saw a white light go
by me! It was round and looked like it left a little white trail
for an instant behind it. I remember it well and it was passing
by slowly yet I only saw it for a second. I saw no form, just white,
and it was bright, and about the size of a fist. I thought it was
a ghost but now that I read these other sightings I think it might
have been a fairy. The place we stayed was on a little hill and
another day my friend said at night she was looking out her window
and she saw at the bottom of the hill a white figure of a man. She
said it was a ghost.
Another encounter was also in Germany. I was in my basement-practicing
violin when I felt something tugging on the back of my shirt. It
was a slight tug but I know it was there. It felt like a tug that
only a fairy could give because it was gentle and only in one part
and I don't know but I got scared and thought it was a ghost and
ran up stairs and told my mom and sisters.
The last encounter was in front of my church in Germany. We had
just finished with Rock the King night which ends at 12:00. I was
very happy and I was looking up above the door for some reason when
a green thing flew past. I truly believe that might have been one!
As it flew past I followed it with my eyes. It was a bright green
that I have never seen on bugs. I could have swore I saw legs and
hands and maybe a head and a set of slightly glowing wings that
looked a little transparent. It was too big to be a firefly. I have
never seen a big bright green bug like that! It was so beautiful!
I told my sister and an 18 yr old boy I knew. I told them I saw
a really big bug that looked kind of like a fairy or something.
They just said, it was just a bug.
I have always and still want to know that I have seen a fairy. What
I mean is I want for one to stay still so I can see it- or for there
to be evidence- like a ring or mushrooms or something. I want to
hear one. I just hope it is fine to God that I could believe in
fairies. If it's fine then I will but I don't want to upset or sin
against God. Please help!

A young lady has several amazing sightings in West Virginia!

I am lucky enough to have many faerie encounters,
here are a few recent ones.
I was reading a book on faeries in bed one night
when out of the corner of my eye I saw a blue faerie about 5 inches
tall with beautiful transparent dragonfly wings playing my glass
of water out of the corner of my eye, I turned and could faintly
see it but then I let my mind wander, still looking in the direction
and I saw it clearly again. I got butterflies in my stomach and
felt like crying.
Another time I was sitting in the car waiting
for my day when I saw him walk out of the house I saw a 4 foot green
man with a pixie hat crouched over looking in my direction, upon
realization that my dad was about to pass him he hopped behind a
bush.
I was playing my faeries oracle tarot deck and
I had 4 candles lit, 2 of which were rose clored, which are supposed
to attract faeries, and as I was playing I saw a beautiful gold
light about the size of a quarter hovering across the table. As
soon as I saw it I had to smile, I felt this feeling of security
and happiness.
Most encounters I have leave me with strong emotions
and often I feel so lighthearted I can fly. I hope to have many
more encounters and I Hope to post them when they happen!

A young lady's step mother and friend have an amusing encounter...

My step-mum and her best friend saw a fairy on
New Years Eve 2004. They describe her as being a white shadow which
'played' with them. They said she was the most beautiful thing they
ever saw. She was shy at first but then they talked to her and she
came closer. They said she was 'swinging' and darted out from behind
shadows. My step-mum told the fairy how pretty she was, and the
fairy fluttered. They both said it was amazing and they had the
feeling that she will come back again, and I know she will.

A young person makes an amazing discovery in the forests of

I am 12 years old and I live in Richmond, Virginia.
My sighting wasn't of a faerie per say, but when I was about 9,
I was building a faerie house in my backyard, which I do a lot,
and I needed some tree bark, so I was looking around a tree in my
backyard for loose bark when I noticed a small knothole in the tree.
I peered inside, for though I had lived in that house for four years
and the tree had been there the whole time, this was the first time
I had noticed the hole. Inside the hole was what at first appeared
to be a tiny wing, and it seemed to be glowing. There was a blue
smoke around it. I reached in the hole to pull out the wing, but
as soon as I touched the wing, the glow and smoke disappeared. The
wing was about and inch and a half long, and looked somewhat like
a dragonfly wing, except wider. Transparent, with no color, except
a tiny golden inscription along one edge. At first it seemed like
just a line, but after closer inspection, it proved to be tiny symbols
that were, sadly, illegible. The wing was extremely fragile, and
crinkled and was crushed if handled too roughly. I still have the
wing. At first it was kept in a metal box, but the inscription disappeared
and the wing started becoming more and more fragile. Then I read
a story about how faeries die if they touch iron, so I replaced
the metal box with a porcelain bowl which I filled with flower petals
and leaves, and lo and behold, the wing seemed to "regain its
health". The inscription never came back, though. To this day
the wing remains one of my prized possessions.
Also, my grandmother lives in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. Once, when I visited her, I was exploring the woods and
stumbled on an old woman with leaves and branches in her tangled
green hair. She was wrinkly and dressed in what looked like leaves.
I pointed her towards the well and continued on my way. That night
I found that my favorite blackberry bush was fully ripened, although
it was nearly fall.

A young woman has two experiences that turn her into a true
believer!

I live in the country area of the Piedmont region
of North Carolina, in the loveliest part of course! I have had one
fairy sighting that I know happened, and another that I am not positive
about. The first one was about two years ago. None of my friends
believe me, except my best friend Erin - we have known each other
forever! She lives on the property in front of mine, and her grandparents
live in between our properties. Her Grandparents have a lovely large
creek that Erin and I have played at since we were very small. Once,
when we were down at the creek, we had a truly amazing experience!
We were sword fighting with little sticks, when
I fell down. There is a large flat rock with a tiny river flowing
between it, and another rock. On the other rock there are beautiful
ferns and jasmine. After I fell, Erin quickly bent down to help
me, and when she did, a little fairy had come up from within a fern.
She had a bright glow surrounding her, as I have heard a fairy of
earth element does. She wore a shawl of leaves and a silky material.
She had wings that had a tint of greenish purple color when they
were in the sunlight. She has not yet returned, but we both feel
confident that she is still watching through the trees.
My second fairy encounter was about two weeks
ago, I was having trouble sleeping, and I was looking out my window,
when I saw a light in the woods. I live deep in the loveliest woods!
I was sitting on my bed, and I saw light and at first I thought
that it had to be a firefly. Then there about four more lights came
up, and they were a lot bigger than fireflies, maybe like five inches
tall. I am a true believer, and I have spent the last three years
researching fairies, and even have a slide presentation including
the history of the famous Cottingen fairies.
