Miss Hope gives some good advice on attracting fairies!

i absouloutaly love fairies and ive been trying to meet one but its not working how can i meet one or attract them to my bedroom. im a ten year old girl and i was wondering if you could help me please!

The kind of fairies I know of, in homes, love to tend indoor plants. They must be real plants and you need to find out, before getting one, which ones will flourish in your rooms type of lighting and how to water and feed them. Sad plants, ones who are not healthy, sadden fairies and they won't come. If you have one or more happy plants, fairies will get curious and try to find a way in. If you decorate the pots with little statues, bright shiny objects, fairies will be even more curious. Fairies might also like a little house you create for them. You can get blank, paintable birdhouses and paint and decorate them in sweet ways that they might like. Imagine you were a fairy and what the house you would like to live in would be decorated. Sparkles? Rocks? Bright or muted colors? Painted to look like a bush or flower? Painted to look like a castle?

Think about what you know of fairies and create that for them. Fairies like peace and don't like loud noises, keep your bedroom peaceful. They also won't come around people who are rude. They listen for people who treat others gently and with respect. They admire a child with courage to defend themselves and make smart choices about protecting themselves against strangers. Fairies know that good and bad exist in the world and want to stand by the side of good. Make your life and your surroundings good and they will come. If you can't make your whole house good, concentrate on your room. Fairies can come through glass so you don't need to keep a window open for them to get in.

You may or may not have the gift to see fairies. Very few seem to be able to see them, but they are there. I can feel them, but have never seen one. My grandmother could see them and assured me that it is a very special gift. It does not mean I am bad, just "Fairy Blind". Just like some people can't see certain colors or hear certain notes of music.

Keep it up, I know you will soon have fairies in your room.

A young English lady meets a little fairy!

My daughter would like to tell you about her sighting this week, she is seven years old and her name is Katie-

On Friday I was going to fetch my sister from school, but then I saw a yellow shining thing with wings and two arms coming towards me. It flew like fluttering and shiny yellow. It had yellow dusty dots around it -like shiny dust. I saw it was a fairy. It bumped into my tummy then flew high in the sky towards the trees. I never saw it again. No-one saw it except me.

Curious nighttime lights leave a young girl scratching her head?

I live in Colorado. I've been seeing fairies for about 3 months ( at least, I think they're fairies).

The first time I saw them was when I was sleeping outside on my trampoline. I looked up, and I saw multi-colored lights right above me that were moving around.

Then, I began seeing them right next to my bedroom window in the trees. Each night, I looked out the window, and they were there.

I've started seeing them around me in front of my house, but I only see them at night, so they're very shy. Most of the time, I wonder if what I'm seeing really are fairies.

Two encounters delight and cheer!!

Hi I am from England and this is my story. I am 12 years old and have always believed in fairies.

When I was about six I was in my garden watching my little brother learn how to play football with my even younger brother. I was standing by my favorite tree in our garden, which I love to bits. I heard laughing in one of the lower branches, and when I went to see, it was a fairy. It was about as high as a pencil and was drinking out of a flower that was like a bluebell but pink. I just stared and it didn't seem to mind.

I told my brother and he chucked the ball at the tree. The fairy screamed and flew high into the branches. I didn't see another one until recently.

Well actually I haven't seen anymore but I have evidence of them. One night, about a month ago, I heard tiny footsteps in my room. They came closer and closer until they were in my bedside table. This went on all night. I also woke up one morning to find my window wide open with no explanation. Also random objects like paper on the floor flash when it thinks I am turned away. Both my friend and I saw this - it was spooky at first but then I thought hey it's fairies I can't be scared!!!

We received this positively amazing story in Oct. 2004 and it blew our mind!

When I was 8yrs old my stepbrother Todd had captured a flame-like man in a glass jar. He had been talking about it for at least a week and finally showed it to me one night when we were getting ready for bed. I couldn't believe what I was looking at.

It was this bright flaming orange figure. I could see facial features, legs, and arms. It was thrashing about in the jar, hitting the sides in a rage. I could see the anger and emotion in his face. I told Todd to set it free. I went to touch the jar and I was burnt. He grabbed the jar and said no and confessed to having caught him a week ago at his mother's house. He tightened the lid and set it high upon the shelf that was above his bed. The angry little thing frightened me but I felt his fear and anguish.

Todd had eventually fallen to sleep. As I went to reach for the jar, I was interrupted by at least a dozen balls of lights that sped around my head like a swarm of bees. I almost dropped the heavy jar on Todd's head. OOOOOps. I sighed with relief, but immediately gasped with disbelief as my entire room lit up into the most spectacular light show. The most beautiful orb-like, iridescent globes of all sizes filled the ceiling space.

I sat the jar down on my bed. Out of one of the orbs this dainty girl floated towards the glass jar. She put her tiny little fingers on the glass and so did the fiery figure. She had this grief-stricken look on her face and kept staring at me with her
brilliant sad blue eyes. I saw her eyes meet with the fiery figure and they met with mine too. Tears filled my eyes. I felt their sadness. I picked up the jar to open it. It didn't burn me this time. Todd had made it so tight!

I finally got it open. The little fire man was whisked away with a flash of light. The next night the balls of lights came back. They seemed to be chasing each other around, playing and giggling. They sped into my closet. When I went to open it, the girl from the night before was right in front of my face floating. Todd tried to catch her with his glass jar.

I slapped the jar out of his hands and it went crashing to the closet floor.I screamed to leave them alone. He pushed me down to the floor.

Just then, the balls of lights started to shock Todd on the back of his legs. Todd fell to the ground and all the balls of lights disappeared into the ceiling. We had many encounters after that night. Some would play a knocking game with us, or a blinking game with us. One night my Mom came into the room and asked if we were turning the lights on and off and giggling .We weren't.

My mother has witnessed the same balls of lights buzzing around in my baby brother's room. We are all normal, drug-free, intelligent people, who live simple lives. I stumbled across your web site by accident. I am so happy to have read about other people's experiences. We all can't be CRAZY! All these years have gone by and now I'm a mother. I wish I could find the right words to describe the beautiful sound these beings made, or the brilliant yet soothing light that filled every dark corner of my world that night. I felt special, chosen and unique. I felt no fear, I wanted answers. I still want answers WHAT THE HECK??????????? My family will never forget, nor will I.

This follow up was sent a few days later --

These "beings" stayed with my family for years and followed us whenever we moved. (9 years) The fire man I spoke of in my first letter didn't like my stepbrother very much after the glass jar experience. He was a little grudge holder. He made this horrible loud static sound (like when your cable TV goes out in the middle of a good movie).

One night the fire man was making such a fuss and was buzzing really close to our faces. Todd threw my baby brother's Mighty Mouse stuffed animal at him. The next morning my brother was accused of playing with matches because Mighty Mouse had a burn hole in him. I couldn't believe it. Todd was crying. I blurted out " the fire man did it." My step dad thought I was being a wise, so I got the spanking of my life and Todd was only grounded.

Todd stopped annoying the fire man after that night. We would just cover our heads with our blankets when he started buzzing close to us.

One night I got to touch the glowing orb-like balls that were floating above my body when I was in bed. The feeling was like when you hold your hand out of the car window when you're driving fast. The air pushes your hand away. The air felt cool through my fingers. It was soothing and soft. It felt like a gentle soft hand was holding mine. I whispered, "I want to go with you. Take me away from here!" The glowing ball released its hold on my hand and disappeared quickly into the ceiling. After that night things got a little calmer.

A young person has several chance encounters, inspiring and delighting...

The first time I believe I saw fairies was when I was about 9. I was outside walking through the snow when all of a sudden this almost transparent blue gnome with long ears stood before me grinning ear to ear and as quick as he had come, he disappeared. Also around that time I would see faces with long ears in bushes and it looked as if they were trying to say something to me. Nobody ever believed me. About a week ago I had stayed up all night and it was about 5 in the morning so I decided to go to bed, I was under my covers when I felt an odd presence but then I heard a LOUD flapping of wings just above my head. I jumped and next thing I knew I was on the floor thinking out loud: "WHAT WAS THAT?"! I stood there for a moment wondering what it was and eventually I climbed back in bed. I watched the rug beside me and then I saw a flash of white about 12 inches high run from under my table and disappeared. It was such an odd experience! I've recently decided I should try to look for faeries and take a camera with me. I'll be sure to email you with updates of anything!

A young boy spots several whimsical creatures!

I think have had many encounters with leprechauns. My mom does not believe in them, but I do. I've seen some in the corner of my eye, and on Saint Patrick's Day, if you look in my garden, you could almost see little men...

On Easter, all of my family had settled to watch a movie and I had fallen asleep. Suddenly, I woke up, hearing Dad's yell. I ran to him and he said there were little beings and when I looked, I saw them. They were glowing yellow, and they were in the garden. They could have been fireflies but then I could see little faces dancing around the garden. I was looking through the window, by the way, when I saw them. They disappeared. I knew I saw seen Fairies.

I have also seen some when I was in my bed, again, looking out the window, and I could see things dancing around my garden at night. I get creeped out easily.

A fairy encounter inspires a young artist!

I am 14, and I from Maine, USA. I recently have sighted several fairies!

I was walking in the woods, behind my house, with my sketchpad and pencil looking for inspiration, as I am an artist. I went to my favorite area of the woods where there is a small stream flowing between two tall maple trees in a little clearing and there is a large rock embedded in the side of the stream, like a bridge because the water goes under it. I sat down on the rock and looked into the water, staring at the bottom, and I saw a green light.

At first I thought it was a reflection from the trees or something else, but I looked closer and it had a shape, not a very distinct shape, but a sort of human shape. It was blurred because of the light surrounding it, and I couldn't quite see it clearly, but I knew it had to be a fairy! I had always imagined them to have a human form, but I never thought I would ever see one. I believe in them as I love mythology and various lore. I had found my inspiration! So now whenever I go to that spot I leave some wild berries on a maple leaf on that rock, and every time I return, whatever I have left is gone! I hope to see a glimpse of one again.

A few glimpses pique curiosity...

Hi, I am 11 and I love fairies. I live in England. Here are my stories:

One day I was in the kitchen, and for some reason, I can‚t remember what, I looked out the window. This red and yellow blur flew past, I made out some wings. The weird thing is it was mid winter so it couldn‚t be a butterfly.

My second was very recent. It was pitch black outside when I looked out of my bedroom window. I saw a white fluorescent perfect fairy shape outside. I blinked and it was gone.

Fireflies in Idaho? I don't think so!

I am 19, and when I was 7 waiting for the school bus there was a warm breeze in the fall (which was unusual in Idaho) and an unusually large moon. I will not forget the purple sky with the large moon. Out of the corner of my eye I saw these tiny lights. When I got a full view it started out as 1 light and then 3 then 4 baby lights emerged from the one light and hovered together like fireflies. This happened about 4 yards from where I was standing. I don't know if it was a faerie, but it must have been because there is no such thing as fireflies in Idaho!
