FAIRY SIGHTINGS by YOUTH (up to 18 years old) - fifteen

Mandy age 12. California, USA.

I was getting out of the shower when from the corner of my eye I saw a strange golden light flash above the shower head. When I looked directly at it, it was not there. Thinking I saw a fairy again I faced the other direction, leaving my side view sight to catch the light. After seeing the golden light flash two more times, I turned to leave the shower when I saw very distinctly a pair of huge gold wings, and long golden legs. I only saw this for about a second, but that was enough to see the fairy. I know for a fact of what I saw and it was beautiful. I wish my parents could see them, and then maybe they would believe me. - A few years ago for no reason in particular I woke up in the middle of the night. My room was dark with a patch of light coming in from the hallway. My room wasn't big, just a square box with my bed facing the window and a night stand at its end. The first thing I saw was a small girl with long brown hair in a long red dress standing on that nightstand. She couldn't have been more then 6 inches high. Suddenly I wasn't feeling sleepy any more. Somehow I gathered the courage to slowly crawl toward the pretty girl. As I started crawling I noticed she was sewing a small red jacket to match her dress. She would put her arm through the sleeve, pull it out, sewed a few stitches and repeated the process to the other sleeve. She was quite fast at doing that. I didn't feel scared or anything probably because I sensed she was no threat to me. Every few inches I whispered, "Hello", but the girl didn't answer. I totally felt ignored. When I got within inches of the creature I knew I wouldn't be able to just fall back asleep so I hopped off my bed without looking back and down the hallway to wake my parents to camp out in their room. In the morning I told them the real reason I woke them up (not a bad dream), but I don't think they believed me. I even looked on my nightstand again but nothing was there. I didn't think at the time to look for wings or a glow that night but I remember she had neither. Since I was excited that I might have seen a fairy or some other mystical creature my grandma and aunt were just two of lucky few I trusted to hear my encounter. My aunt had said afterwards that she had seen the same strange girl when she was my age. My second sighting came in a dream. Last year on Mid Summer's Eve I was determined to spot a fairy outside. I was going to stay up and search for fairies but I chickened out. Instead I went to sleep at midnight without seeing any signs of fairies, but that night had a very special feeling to it, almost mystical and magical. That night I had an amazing dream. I saw in my dream a first person view of our side yard with little lights flying toward my window and the same exact looking fairy I had seen in my room a few years earlier. She flew down to my window with her friends. That dream was so realistic; it felt as if I was sitting on my roof looking down. I have always believed in fairies and now I always will. I hope to someday see her again and maybe I will.

A few years ago for no reason I woke up in the middle of the night and looked over to my night stand at the end of my bed. I saw a small girl with long brown hair in a long red dress; she couldn't have been more then 6 inches high. I don't remember her face but she was sowing a small red jacket for her outfit. She would put her arm through the sleeve, pull it out, sow a stitch and repeat. I didn't feel scared or anything as I crawled slowly to the end of the bed. I said hello a few times but it didn't answer. I don't know why I went into my parent's room but I did. That morning I told my parents about the girl but I don't think they believed me. I even looked on my nightstand and nothing was there. I didn't think at the time to look for wings or a glow because there was none. I had told my aunt later and she told me she'd seen the same girl when she was young. Just last year on mid summers night I had been very into fairies like I always have. I was going to stay up a search for fairies but I chickened out. Instead I went to sleep and that night I had an amazing dream. I saw in my dream a first person view of my side yard with little lights flying toward my window and the same exact looking fairy id seen a few years earlier was at my window with her friends. Her hair was still long and brown but with a shorter shinier red dress. I have always believed in fairies and now I always will. I think a fairy girl was looking out for another human girl, me.

I know fairies are real, I've heard them with my friend but ever since I haven't heard anything/seen anything. I have made a display for them on my window filled with glitter/chocolate/water/pretty things! But they still don't even come to touch the chocolate. I have even played music and asked them to come, but nothing happened. Is there anything else I can do? I am not allowed flowers!

FairyGardens answers this question: You have attracted the fairies. You just can't see them. Most people cannot see them. The gift of 'fairy sight' is rare. It is like being born deaf, or gifted in math, or piano, etc. You have done all of the things that will bring fairies to you. My grandmother could see them but I can't. I 'feel' their presence. Slow down, close your eyes and listen. When your eyes are closed you may see colors (fairies), you may hear sounds that are not what is going on around you, but some small sound in the background. These are fairies. Whenever you look at a tree, body of water, flowers, and other things of nature (even in a great big city) and you think to yourself, "You are so beautiful." A fairy has put some magic into your heart. Not all fairies like chocolate of other kinds of human food. The do admire the glitter and they love to hear humans sing and play soft and gentle music. They don't like loud noises or rude people. They are attracted to polite people who have a soft heart. Don't worry sweetie- they are all around you!

I was looking up how to summon a fairy, and so I left some of my Halloween candy for them. In the morning it was there, but I went to this very old tree with knobs and it was all curled. I started to sing this song with my heart ''come in the day, come in the night, come soon and bring delight. Merrily, merrily, left hand and right come soon and bring delight. And I did that from 5:00 to somewhere around 6, and it was a full moon and getting dark. I tried talking to the fairies like they were someone I knew well, and expressed my feelings, and I promised not to tell anyone they existed. So I'm sitting on my swing singing that song, all of a sudden, I see little lights in the brush, at first I thought they were the lights in my neighbor's house, but I saw them move. They looked liked fireflies. I couldn't make out the faces because of the blue glow and they were so small. I then knew that they weren't fireflies because it was very cold out. I felt my heart skip a beat and was nervous. They were flying just like a firefly; buy low to the ground, about 2 feet. They vanished and I told my dad right away, guess I shouldn't have. This has changed my life forever. By the way, it was sunset, but you could see the full moon, I THINK it was the day after Halloween.

When I was walking by the window in my living room a few minutes ago, (9:30 P.M.) I saw something glowing out of the corner of my eye. I looked over, and there was a small blue light floating down the road. It wasn't glaring like a flashlight. After staring at it for about 30 seconds, it disappeared. My guess is that it was a fairy, and it was frightened when it saw me staring at it with my jaw resting on the floor.

J. J.-12.-Maine.

My family was taking a camping trip to Maine. I was reading a book about magic, and decided to make a house for fairies. It was really nice, made out of sticks, rope, ferns, and leaves. I even used stones and twigs to make a tiny table with 10 chairs. The next morning, I woke up very early and went over to the house. I sat down and looked at it. I saw a fairy, about 3 1/2 inches tall, sitting there. Her skin was very pale blue, her blue haircut into a bob, and she was wearing all blue. She had what appeared to be a bluebell hat on her head. There was also a 2-inch tall white skinned fairy in pink. I was scared, and ran away. I went back later that day, at about 10 at night. I could see not anything, but as I was walking away, I distinctly heard the flapping of wings. They were not bird wings, they had a certain chime to them... like a wind chime noise, and I could tell they were fairies. I left them a piece of sausage, and it was gone the next day. Only the very end of it was left, with tiny little nibble marks on the rest of it. It was truly incredible, and since then, I have believed in fairies with all of my heart.

I haven't seen anything of fairies since about two years ago, but this Morning, I went into my brother's room to check on our pets which were out in the back garden. My eyes focused on the buddleia bush, and on a top leaf there was a glowing green object, sort of glittery, which occasionally flashed. I watched it for about ten seconds, knowing that if I went downstairs then it would probably vanish. Sure enough, by the time I was at the kitchen window it was gone. I went outside to check and there was nothing there. My mum and I thought about what else it could be, and other than a fairy, I don't think there's another explanation. Buddleias are meant to attract butterflies and I'm sure I read that fairies like the same things butterflies do.

My fairy sighting happened when I was at school. I was in the Ecology Habitat class and we go out on nature walks to talk about animals and plants. I usually bring my camera with me to take some cool photographs. My friend usually takes the photos and I think she took this one. So, we were just walking on the trail taking a photo of almost every plant we see. Then we took a photo of this plant we thought it looked really cool. About 6 months later I was bored so I was looking through the photos, and suddenly I saw some interesting white color in the bottom right corner, I think it might be a fairy. If you compare it to all of the other white spots that are there from the sun showing through you can see it looks a bit of a different shade. And it kind of looks like it may be a fairy flying through the air! My first experience ever I'm so happy!
