When my dad was maybe 8 years old, he and his
3 brothers and 2 sisters would play down by the riverside in front
of their house. They would plead with their mom to please come see
the little people but my grand mother was always too busy. The kids
would tell tales of the little people playing with them and until
my dad died he swore that every bit of his stories were true. He
said they were male and female, played hide and go seek, and make
little sounds and giggles but never talk as we do, although they
did seem to know what each other was saying. My dad said they stayed
around a long while until one day they were gone and they never
saw them again. This did not happen to me but I always believed
my dad, uncles and aunts....

A letter from a young lady seeking answers:

I came to this site to try and determine if what
I see are fairies or not. I am quite young but I see them in different
places every now and then. It's like a white-blue sphere that darts
by me in my room or wherever. It's such a fascinating feeling to
see one of these creatures! Sometimes they even can enter my dreams!

Another letter from a young believer!

Hello.
I am a 12-year-old girl in the United States
and over the past two years I have had three faerie encounters.
Two of these occurred while I was alone, the other happened while
I was outside with my little sister. I would be pleased to share
my sister's and my stories.
The first time I've ever seen a faerie was when
I was visiting my grandmother during the summer. I really like to
plant and weed, and she owns this lovely property with splendid
gardens (once featured in the magazine "Better Home and Garden"),
so during my family's visit I'd go out by myself and weed for her.
One day, while admiring my progress, I saw out
of the corner of my eye a little faerie child peering over the top
of a rose-leaf. I saw him quite distinctly (even in the instant
that I had caught my glimpse). He was solid, more like an elf, and
wore a brown-and-red jacket and a little cap. When I turned to look
at him he was gone! I checked myself by turning my head back and
forth, but nothing similar appeared to me. Hence my first faerie
encounter.
My second experience with the faerie folk was
last summer, while I was out in my own garden. As I was running
about barefoot in the shade of our old Victorian house I saw a long
creature in a silvery-white white dres floating behind a leafy branch.
She was eight or so inches high, and brightly glowing. She hovered
there for quite some time, and then Ieft her and skipped away.
My last encounter occurred that same summer.
After telling my entire family all about the faeries I have witnessed
my sister approached me and asked, "Why can't I see the faeries?".
I took her out immediately into the dimming light and we danced
around calling to the faeries. Suddenly a little faerie zoomed above
our heads. My sister was so excited!
I have seen three faeries in my life, and I do
hope to see more, but if I don't I will be content. I feel I have
been truly blessed by the faerie folk!
I hope you can share my stories.
Sincerely,
A Happy Believer

A great letter from a young fairy believer received in early
Novemeber:

I saw your website (Which I love) and thought
I should tell you about my sightings:
It was the summer of 2001 and I was 11 years
old. I was sitting in the backyard in our hammock with my best friend
and I heard a faint fluttering of feathers above me. I looked up
in time to see a dusty brown bird fly past me. It was perfectly
normal except this bird had a fairy face. I could just barely distinguish
a nose and a pair of hazel eyes. I tried to point it out to my friend,
but by the time we looked up the fairy bird was gone.
A few days later my friends mom was driving
us back to my house. I was lazily looking out my window and in my
neighbor's yard I saw a flock of dusty brown birds, pecking the
ground for food. Then I saw the fairy, it looked up and caught my
gaze. I managed to get my friends attention this time and we both
saw it. This is a memory I'll never forget.

We received this story in early Novemeber. It shows the strong
link between the fairy world and the natural world.

When I found this sight I was very exited. I
have been in love with fairies my whole life, but I never actually
considered the possibilities that they were real, until a year ago.
Since then, I have had two encounters.
The first event happened to me on a day I was
riding my bike. I was actually looking for them and had stopped
to enjoy some flowers of all sorts. Looking into them deeply, I
didnt see anything other than the flowers but I still felt
a joyful feeling inside. I began riding my bike again then hearing
faint laughter, and giggles. Then, I saw from the corner of my eye,
a stream of yellow light move very fast. I looked around, and saw
nothing. I thought it was a yellow butterfly but it didnt
flutter. I continued riding my bike and about 10 minutes later I
saw it again after I had taken a break to admire the birds in the
lake. Again, it was a flash of yellow. I looked around and saw no
butterflies near. I was not sure if what I saw was a fairy at that
point.
The second sighting I had was very vivid. I was
working and went outside to take out the garbage. I became very
joyful and began admiring all the climbing vine plants that were
covering the trees. I was admiring one tree and as I was looking
at it, in my minds eye the tree developed a goofy face, smiled then
made a kissing face, like it blew me a kiss. I walked up to the
tree, and I was intending on walking back into my job, when I saw
a flash of what looked to be a butterfly. A monarch it looked like.
I saw it only as a flash not from the corner of my eye but in front
of me. It wasnt a butterfly, it had big wings, and a what
resembled a small bodysuit as though clothed in orange and black
rags, its hair was orange, and it was in an odd flying position,
one of her legs was up against her chest and the other was stretched
behind her. One of her arms was straight above her head, the other
close to her chest. I went back into work very surprised and amazed,
because l actually saw this- the picture was so intense and I saw
it like I would see a box or anything physical. This was not the
same thing as the other experiences I have had. I can usually go
to an area in nature, and hear fairy laughter, giggles, and burbley
type noises, "Come play with me", remarks. I had felt
the light feeling they bring, but I had never seen a physical fairy,
the first time I saw one I was not sure, but the last time made
me a believer.
Thanks for hearing me Ill keep you posted,
its nice to know there are other believers out there.

Another story of a fairy sighting in an unusual place!

I was 10 years old (one year ago) and I was just
browsing in the shopping village where I live when I saw what appeared
to be a bird but then I noticed it was glowing. it looked back and
I saw what I think was a human like face. When I looked down for
a second and then looked up and it had vanished. I had thought fairy
tales were ridiculous until that day.

I've seen 5 fairies before and here are my stories.
My friend and I were in my room reading fairy books when a wondrous
faerie flew down to us. We found out her name! She told us she was
a royal {this was true she was not using glamour}.
The second time I was at the same friend's house we were watching
TV and talking about the faerie we met and then she came back with
a friend this time! We were so excited!
The third time was not the best. We were at my house playing with
HP legos and then we saw a faerie rave. Luckily, they did not see
us.
The fourth time was at school. I was at recess and I was wondering
if I could summon a faerie because my friend was hurt. It worked!
The faerie had healed my friend.
The fifth time I was again at recess and was walking by our school
woods. A dark faerie flew past our heads and went straight to the
woods. My friends and I think our school woods are magical.

A story from a woman who has made friends with fairies!

I was saw the movie Fairy Tail and decided to
find out if there really are fairies. I saw them and they are beautiful,
very glowing, I know their names by heart, Fauna, Flora Merriweather,
Laurel, and Periwinkle whom I know very well. You can't see fairies
if you don't already believe in them or if you only want to prove
their existence...when I see fairies they look like glowing balls
of light and sometimes they look more detailed but only if they
are in the woods and know they are safe. I often leave them little
treats like honey or flower petals or berries and I look closely
and can see itsy bitsy bites taken out of them. This story may seem
far fetched but some people claim they have been abducted by aliens.
Sincerely,
Kathleen

A mysterious light has a young girl wondering...

Hi. I am Emmelia and I am not sure if this was
a faery or a ghost in my house but a couple of weeks ago I was sitting
down, watching a movie, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a
small white light, about the size of my hand and round, whiz upstairs
to my parents' room. I looked out into the hall from my bunk bed,
freaked out, and went back to watching the movie. Could this be
a fairy or was I seeing things?- Emmelia

I am a twelve, almost thirteen, year old girl
in the United States. For quite some time I have been interested
in faeries. I am also Wiccan. One night, in the late summer of last
year, it was raining. It was also very hot, so I opened my window
and listened to the sound of the raindrops outside. Suddenly, almost
They were unclothed, and pure black in dark. They had tiny thin
wings, and giggled and danced in the rain. I gasped and ran to get
my camera, but by the time I was back they were gone,
