FAIRY SIGHTINGS by ADULTS - five

I thought I'd email you about the times ive seen
faeries, they both occured in the past few months, and one only
2 nights ago now.
The first I was sitting in my bedroom and I looked
up and I saw a yellow glowing faerie fly quickly past, I was able
to make out her legs and body before she got away.
The second time was only a few nights ago I am not sure what kind
of creature it was but I was laying on my bed with my friend the
lights where off and it was fairly dark I looked up and I saw about
a metre in height or so the sort of shape of a human
it was very bright glowing blue and walked a few steps then disapeared!

I am in my forties and have never had an experience
of this kind before in my life. I described to a trusted friend
what I have seen, and she suggested to me it might be fairies. I
thought she was teasing me, but she wasn't. So I did some searching
and found your website.
We have a back yard which we very much enjoy.
It is shaded by a very large red oak tree and surrounded on all
sides by an 8-foot privacy fence. We have wisteria, trumpet vines,
morning glory vines, roses, an herb garden, and lots more. It's
a packed, lovely space.
Three times in the last month I have seen in
my yard a little flying creature and have no idea what it is. The
last time there were two of them together, flying one behind the
other. By the way they move I can tell what they're not. It's not
a hummingbird or a butterfly. It's not a bird. Every time I have
seen them they were in flight. They half-hovered, half-floated in
their movement, slowly (not zipping along like a hummingbird, or
the erratic movement of a butterfly.) I might have taken them for
dragonflies except their bodies were not horizontal in their flight
they were vertical. Their wings were much larger than their bodies,
and were a shimmery pale gold-amber color, and shaped sort of like
a dragonfly wing, but a bit wider and more round. Sadly, I have
not been able to get closer than about 10-12 feet from them. They
move away from me and out of sight as I approach. They look to have
a wingspan of about 4 or 5 inches. They seem to prefer the shady
part of the yard, around the wisteria and bushes, rather than the
flowering vines (which the butterflies and hummingbirds enjoy).
Of course, this is summer in Texas, and it's much cooler in the
shady part of the yard. I'll keep watching and hope they visit again.
Something I thought interesting was, on one occasion,
my cat's reaction to seeing this little thing. He never pays the
least attention to hummingbirds, butterflies, or bugs. But, as this
little UFO floated over the wisteria vines, he sat and watched it,
never took his eyes away, till it went over the fence and out of
sight. It also reassured me that he saw it too - and I wasn't just
"seeing things"!

From our friend LJ -- I could never tell anyone
about this because they would probably lock me up and throw away

I live in the country in Southeast PA and my
property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and tall trees. It was
late morning, a beautiful day and I walked over to one of the big
glass doors that overlooks my frog pond garden and saw something
very odd. While, I am familiar with every type of bird, bee, and
animal that lives and visits here, and there are many, what I saw
was not one of them.
In the distance ( about 12-14 feet from the door was this sparkling
little thing...hovering...going forward...then backward...up and
then down a bit....but in a complete hovering type of motion....and
then just hovering and not moving at all...and completely sparkling
and glistening like nothing I have ever seen.
My first thought was "Oh my goodness, it's a fairy"..
My 15 yr. old daughter was nearby and as I stood there, I did say
: "What the heck"....and she came over and stood next
to me and also noticed the little sparkling flying thing (appeared
to be about 3-4" tall from top to bottom) Well, I didn't say
anything at all....and neither did she, but we just watched it until
in the blink of an eye it was gone.
I looked at my daughter and said...."I don't want to say this
but I think"....and she said...."Mom, are you thinking
the same thing I am"? "That we just saw a fairy"?
I haven't seen it again but she did tell me yesterday that she thought
she saw it again. I guess this will be our little secret because
no one would ever believe it.
Anyway, this has always been an enchanted property. One day a beautiful
male peacock arrived and stayed here for two years. (Even through
the winter) At the time, my father had moved in with me due to his
having Alzheimers disease. Well, we named him Petey. He slept in
the big white pines that border the property. I worried about him
when we got hit with horrible wind storms, but sure enough he was
always around in the morning..waiting for me to feed him seed and
berries.
This is the strange part....Whenever the ambulance would return
my dad from the hospital, the peacock was always at the end of the
driveway, sitting on the split rail fence across the road and calling
out. (they have a strange call) People were astounded by this. The
bird was pretty tame for us...we could hand feed him. He always
hung out in one of the big maple trees (the climbing tree) in the
back yard.
A few days after my dad passed away, the peacock was found dead
in the neighbors yard. There were no signs that it was attacked
by a dog or hurt.
Then there's the true and amazing story about the grey pony...
Unfortunately, we are selling our wonderful home. But, I plan to
offer to take the fairies with us.

This is a picture that Rachel took on our West
Virginia ghost hunt tour. As we were reviewing the phtos on my computer,
we saw a small white star shaped object in the center of the picture.
Wondering what it was we zoomed in on it and found that it most
likely is a fairy. What do you think? I swear we have not doctored
this photo.

We had a full day on the drive and waited till
late to drive home, so we would be able to see all the wildlife
that comes out at dusk and afterwards. We were inundated with frogs
on the road. So many you could not believe. We did all we could
to avoid running them over, and believe we missed every one.
There was, however, one that appeared to have
been stunned in the middle of the road, right on the double yellow
line. He was rather large for a frog, not bullfrog big, but big
enough. We stopped in the road, picked him up and brought him to
the side of the road, and hoped for the best that he would be okay.
About one or two minutes after we saved the frog,
we continued to look for more wildlife with the help of our 1,000
candlelight flashlight every now and then. To tell you the truth,
I don't remember if it was in our headlights or the flashlight that
we saw, in the woods at the side of the road, the fairy flutter
down from a place higher then our car down to the ground. She was
beautiful, legs long and together - for aerodynamics I suppose,
a small, but proportioned head, body, arms and the wings, oh the
wings were big and beautiful like a swallowtail butterfly only white.
She just flutter down to the ground as my husband confirmed what
I saw by asking if I had just seen what he had... a fairy. Thank
goodness I was not alone and that he was the first to bring it up,
otherwise I don't think I would ever live it down. Unfortunately,
my daughter was dozing in the back and missed it... but she has
fairies visit her often.
We believe that it was the fairy that came to
help the frog live on. Kind of natures EMT's. Or perhaps, just perhaps,
he was a frog prince and she was so greatfull that we helped him,
she allowed us to see her. Then about 15 minutes later, we saw a
bobcat. What a great night.

I must tell you that I have an actual picture
that I took. I was in a neighbors yard with my grandson and was
taking a picture of him with my digital camera. When I brought the
picture up on my computer there, just below him, looks to me like
a fairy hovering over a flower. You can actually see details such
as wings, arms and legs. It is quite beautiful. It was a crisp autumn
day. I live in the United States in Northeast Louisiana. Not the
usual place for sightings but who knows we may have the southern
type down here.

When my grandmother was little (around maybe
ten or twelve), she was staying the night at her grandparents' house.
The window of her room overlooked their backyard which had a very
old and big tree and beautiful vines and flowers. That night she
couldn't sleep and while she was looking around her room, she noticed
what seemed to her to be fireflies flying around her back yard.
She went over to the window and was watching the lights when a fairy
flew right past her window. My grandmother says that the fairy was
so bright that my grandmother could almost not make out what she
was. My grandmother says that the fairy was holding a little lantern.
Her wings were a silvery-clear and she was wearing a flowing gown.
My story took place about a year ago. I was walking
my dog in my neighborhood in the late afternoon. We were walking
by the lakes that are in the back of my neighborhood when I heard
laughter and giggling. I looked around and couldn't see anyone but
then I looked at the lake. The fairies were probably of the water
element because I saw to globbs of water hopping in and out of the
water one over the other as if they were playing tag. The moment
I caught this it seemed as if everything else went still. Magical
is the only word that can describe it. I felt happy and warm inside
after seeing this. I was trying to figure out what it was and the
only thing that came to mind was it could be fairies. I hope I get
to see them again because they seemed so happy, carefree, and beautiful.

When my daughter was only a few months old and
sleeping in a bassinet in our room, I would often get up in the
night just to look at her illuminated by the ever so subtle light
of the street lamp outside the bedroom curtains. I would marvel
at her beauty and the wonder of her being in our lives.
One night, as I was standing there looking down, just for a moment
I thought I saw a gentle little light go on for a split second and
then it was gone. Unsure whether I had seen it or not, I stood there
for several seconds just watching. Sure enough, there it was again,
a gentle going on of a small light just by her blanket and then
off again, as if a firefly or a lightening bug had gotten into the
bedding. I turned on the light and taking the baby out and laying
her on the bed, I ripped the bedding apart looking for the insect
but there was none and then I realized . . . . It was February -
there are no bugs in February! Confused, I put the bedding back
and the baby back and turned out the lights. Once more, I stood
by the bassinet watching. Just as before, a little spot of light
came on slowly and then extinguished slowly. Not only that, this
time there were two and then, three of them. I was amazed and did
not know what to think. Alarmed that something was happening to
my baby, I picked her up out of the bassinet and carried her to
the bed with me. All the while the little lights flickered on and
off around her and on her. I called to my husband to wake up and
asked him if he saw it too. He said that he did but he was sure
it was just static electricity, but I was sure IT WAS NOT just static
electricity. I got into bed with the baby and put her on my stomach
under the blankets. But even there, when I lifted the blankets,
the lights were going on and off underneath where she was.
The next day I was just frantic. I opened the telephone book to
the yellow pages and called every number that I could find; psychics,
metaphysical, colleges . . . just to find somebody - - anyone to
ask what the phenomenon was and if it was dangerous to my baby.
Finally, I reached a psychic and I told her gulping and hysterically
what I had seen and begged her to tell me what she thought it was
or if she could tell me someone I could call who could tell me what
it was. She said "shhhhhh - it's okay, calm down now . . .
I know what it is." "What is it?" I asked frantically.
She said "It is Fairy Lights - Your daughter must be very,
very special. The Fairies are protecting her - she has a close bond
with them." I thanked her and slowly hung up, amazed at the
thought. The phenomenon did seem very gentle, the way the lights
went on and off slowly. I decided I would keep watch but I did feel
better about it.
That night, and many many nights thereafter, I would get out of
bed and stand above my daughter's bassinet and watch her beauty
and the beauty of the fairy lights gently going on and off on her
and around her. No longer fearful, I would smile and feel strangely
safer and comforted knowing she was being cared for so tenderly
and lovingly by them.
My daughter is now 6 years old and she is, indeed, very special.
She is developmentally delayed but she has a wondrous spirit, bold
but also sensitive with a natural empathy on board. I know the fairies
will always be with her, keeping her safe and guiding her. My love
for the wondrously magical creatures shall always remain steadfast
and strong, and always I will smile when I remember those nights
watching their magical lights, beacons of safety and love, glimmering
in my baby's bassinet.

I do believe in little people although if I
had not personally seen one, I never would have thought it would
be possible that they were actually real. I was watching television
one afternoon and noticed a 2 inch tall little man running out of
the dining room into the living room of my apartment. He stayed
close to the wall and ran past me into the entrance hall of the
apartment. The little person did not look at me. He looked straight
ahead and looked like he was afraid that he might be noticed. The
little man was no more than 2 inches tall. He was about 47 years
old in human years. He had short brown hair. He looked exactly like
a human exept that he was only 2 inches tall. He was wearing black
slacks with a white long sleeve shirt and a black vest. He seemed
like he would be friendly. I am not sure if he was a fairy with
special powers such as glamor or if he was just a little person.
The expression on the little person's face showed that he was very
afraid of being noticed or possibly captured. I could have caught
the little person except that due to the fact that the little person
was very afraid of being seen, it was the right thing to do to just
let him go. I have told a few people about seeing the little person.
I do not believe anyone believes it is possible that little people
such as the one I saw can exist. I wish I would have had a camera
so that I could show proof that the little person I saw actually
exists. I just want to let people know that the stories on your
website from other people about a fairy sightings are credible.
Little people do exist and may be part of the fairy world.

The lights went out in our area due to power
interruption. As I went back to bed after turning off my computer
UPS & monitor, I suddenly saw a tiny bright purple light hovering
down my bedroom ceiling. I was deathly scared and could even feel
my heart pounding because I wasn't sure of what it was. It was total
blackness and the tiny light was the only thing I saw and it was
moving in circles. It was kind of a formless light, purple in color
and it had a tail following as it went around. I was about to scream
for help when the light suddenly expanded and I started to hear
a beautiful sound which I could not describe. I was completely amazed
and mesmerized. After a while, power lights went up and it suddenly
disappeared. I have always believed in fairies since I was a little
girl. I have seen so many of their dwelling places near the river
in our farm but never have I expected that one day I would actually
see one.

Mysterious dreams and encounters in the forest - May 2005
|
|
 |

Seitrith- Age 21.
It seems I've always been called by the Wee Good
Ones. Even when I was still just a Baptist Christian, I would see
things I could never explain.
Once I saw one while on a swing. A little black
shadow shaped like a woman only a few inches tall darted in front
of me. Ever since then I'd see them here and there, darting around
my home. I'm blessed to see them inside my college apartment even
now.
I'll never forget the two most amazing points
in my life...
It was still early spring, so early there was
frost still on the ground, and everything was still brown. I was
walking through the woods, and came into what could only have been
a faerie ring! There was a small stream running through it, and
the area was no longer than seven feet, and no wider than five,
but everything within the area was as bright green as summer! I
left tea and some sweet after-dinner mints for them. They must have
enjoyed them, for that very night I had only pleasant dreams of
wee little people whispering just outside my second story window!
Another time happened in the fall maybe just
a year later. I was with a friend, and the leaves were bright and
mostly fallen. I was once again in those beautiful woods behind
my house and near the creek. I called out softly, and suddenly a
gentle breeze could be heard comming towards me through the trees.
Proceeding the rustle of leaves, I could hear soft footsteps coming
closer and closer. I grew a bit dizzy as the wind brushed past me
and touched my face like a hand. When I opened my eyes and looked
down, I saw places where the leaves had been kicked up on the ground
as if someone had walked by!
I have been blessed by their presence for years,
and it never fails that when I leave treats out for them, I find
those treats gone in the morning.
What a wonderful gift!
