Unbelievable sightings - May 2005

My fairy sighitng occurred here last night in
Jamesport, New York. We live in a small house that backs up to a
nature preserve and farm with beautiful woods in the backyard.
About 11:15 pm on the night of May 2, 2005, the rain had just stopped
and I looked out the back window. It was a little misty but still
clear enough to see. What I saw was unbelievable! They're were two
globes of yellow light about 3 to 4 inches in height flying in the
backyard. At first I thought it was some kind of giant moth, but
then this bright yellow orb flew about 4 feet from me on the outside
of the screen.
I could see what looked like a small entity with a flowing long
dress that was cut at certain angles. Although I could not make
out a face because of the brightness I was certain about the clothing.
This had to be a fairy. The other one was a little further away
to the left. They flew for what seemed like a minute and then flew
straight up and disappeared. I know what I saw and it certainly
wasn't a moth.
I checked the back patio screen door and all I found were a few
very tiny bugs attracted to the back porchlight.
I knew we had fairies here because of the woods and fairy rings
that appear in our backyard every summer but this is the first time
I have seen them. Next time my movie camera will be ready.

An amazing sighting by a late night traveler in Virginia.

I think I saw a fairy about 2 years ago. I haven't
really thought about it since then until my friend sent me a ring
and it was very similar to the shape of the one I saw.
I was on my way to Norfolk, having been driving
a long time. I realized I had to find a Bed and Breakfast- I stay
often in them as a representative. I knew they were far and few
between (near Royston on the 505) and finally I saw a tatty old
notice.
I pulled in and it was a farm. I usually ask
for a break in the price, which I did (without breakfast). The guy
seemed really friendly and unusually natural. He showed me the accommodation,
which was spartan and was worth the small amount he was asking.
Without these criteria I would never have stayed there. I had a
quick look at the horses then went up to my room.
It was quite dirty and I was edgy. However there
was a lovely, honest, simplicity about the place, and I felt myself
coming down to earth as I had a meager but adequate bath. I seem
to recall I went to bed and slept and was awakened by some noise
of other people and then tried to sleep again, perhaps slightly
anxious but generally feeling very safe because the place was so
unpretentious.
Then, as I recall, I awoke-or may have already
been awake and looking up and slightly to the right of the foot
of my bed I saw her-or it. It was like a buzz of light energy vibrating,
instantaneously, shaped very much like a little person with wings.
Then as she / it disappeared from my sight, leaving me in no doubt
I had seen a fairy. Now I wonder if perhaps it was a sylph.

This story demonstrates that fairies can be seen by people of
all ages - not just the young!

My sighting is not typical of some that I have
read. I also was 29, not a young teen.
I was laying in my bed in my third floor city apartment. I had just
awoke and was facing out towards the door. I looked down towards
the floor and there I saw her, a fairy. She was about the size of
a Barbie doll and hovering above my floor looking at me, her wings
moving so fast that they were eliminating a faint dark red light.
As I blinked away my sleepiness, she was gone.
There was no sound, no communication, no feeling or "aura"
left in the room. That was two years ago, right before a huge rough
period in my life. I have not seen or heard one since.

A family blessed by generations of encounters...

I have believed in fairies all my life . It runs
in my family, all the girls see fairies and on my dads side of the
family both my aunts do. I have had many sightings, but my first
one was when I was quite little. My friend and I were building miniature
houses in my back garden when I looked up at the pink sky to catch
a glimpse of the sun drawing down. And as I did so I saw twenty
or so fairies flying over my house. The largest at the front glowing
and smaller ones to follow. They flew very slowly as if slowed in
time and disappeared right before a tree into nothingness. That was
my very first encounter.

Southern California - home of actors, rock stars....and fairies?

I live in Laguna Beach, California in a neighborhood
that is now called Thurston Park but used to be called Fairywood.
It is a very old and a special place located in a grove of Eucalyptus
trees.
It was in this groove in 1973 I saw these hazy
little greenish lights floating about four feet off the ground moving
from one group of trees to the next. Over the years we have lost
so many trees and our land, here in California, is being treated
with so little respect by the greed of man that I thought my little
friends were gone forever.
On a full moon in October I invited the fairies
to come into my garden. I haven't had any visual contact yet but
I have plants and flowers growing and blooming when they shouldn't
be and birds have filled my little garden with their presence and
songs. It seems they are happy and feel safe. I'm thinking fairies
and birds must be very good friends. I'm also thinking that the
original name of my neighborhood was no accident.
PS: I forgot to mention that my neighborhood
has no streets or sidewalks but is composed of three walking lanes,
Roosevelt, Victory and Fairywood! No street lights, very natural
and close to nature.

Dianna - Detroit, MI 2005: My first fairy sighting
occurred only four days ago. It was approximately 5am so it was
still dark out, and my boyfriend and I were lying in my bed with
the lights off trying to fall asleep. I began hearing flapping,
fluttering type noises in the room...similar to the sounds of a
butterfly or other winged creature.
Since it is the dead of winter where I live and
my windows were all shut, I knew this was not a plausible scenario.
I sleep with a fan on and wondered if perhaps a small piece of paper
was stuck in the fan, causing the flapping noise. When I turned
on the light and stared at the fan, the noise seemed to be coming
from there. As soon as I turned the light out again, the noise started
once again, this time travelling around room on each side of the
bed. My boyfriend and I both heard it so I
know I wasn't imagining it!
Then, suddenly, we both saw a ring of light and
glittery, sparkly, flashes of light in a couple of different places
in the room. I was so excited because in my heart, I knew it was
fairies!
I had suspected they had visited me in the past,
but I had never made visual or audio contact until now. I was also
elated that my boyfriend also witnessed this encounter and saw and
heard the exact same thing I did, so there is no question that it
wasn't just my imagination.
I would like to tell all the non-believers out there that fairies
and magick are very real things. I am a no nonsense, college educated,
professional woman in my early 30s and believe me, if I can see
such things, so can you. Just believe...

Suze, Wisconsin, USA 2005
While I've always believed in the presence of
faeries, I never realized how often that I had contact with them
throughout my life. My most memorable sightings happened when I
was a child of four or five years of age. I often had visits from
faeries when I would go to bed; I hated going to bed because I always
feared that I would miss out on a piece of life or something fantastic
when I closed my eyes. So often I remember lying in my bed and seeing
the image of dancing girls clothed in white - all holding hands-
coming out of my closet. They always held out their hands to me
as if I should grab them and join in their merry dance but I never
did. It wasn't until many years later that I realized the visits
were from the field faeries who yearned to have me join in their
fun. I often wonder what would have happened if I had reached out
and grabbed their hands.

An impromptu roadside stop leads to an amazing experience...

Jenny, 2005-
I live in Indiana and this happened when I was
18. I used to go for rides at night out into the country, specifically
to a nature/recreational area not far from my home. One moonlit
summer night, I was driving as usual when I found a spot where a
circle had been mowed into a meadow. It looked so inviting to me
that I decided to pull the car in and get out. I was deeply interested
in Shamanism and magic and it looked like the perfect place for
a little impromptu moon-dancing. As I got out, I noticed that there
were fireflies far out in the tall meadow grass around the circle,
but none where I was at. I opened myself up to the night and started
dancing with my eyes closed, feeling the energy of the place.
After awhile, I opened my eyes and got the shock
of my life. I was completely surrounded by what at first seemed
to be at least a hundred fireflies. However, I quickly realized
that these weren't normal fireflies. When a normal firefly comes
close to you, they don't look like little balls of lights, they
look like bugs. I was looking at these from less than a foot away
and all I could discern were little globes of light hovering in
the air. Just looking at them filled me with the most transcendental
feeling of joy that I had to keep dancing. And the lights appeared
to be dancing with me! When I would move my arm, they'd move with
it. If I swayed or turned, they swayed and turned with me.
I must have kept dancing with those lights for
at least 15-20 minutes when the sound of an approaching car impinged
on my hearing and reminded me that I was a young girl alone out
in the middle of nowhere. I ran over to my car and crouched down
by the wheel to peep over the hood and watch the car go by in case
there was going to be trouble. As I crouched there and watched the
car go past, I realized that most of the lights had followed me
to the car and were hovering at about the same level as my head.
I turned my head and looked right at a light that was hovering at
eye level and just started giggling because I felt like they were
watching with me.
When I went to leave, I bowed to the lights and
thanked them for dancing with me. I turned around to open the car
door and when I glanced back over my shoulder the lights were gone.
I firmly believe that the faeries came out that night to dance with
me and it was one of the most amazing and joyful moments of my life
so far.

A woman with a life of wonderful experiences!

Gayle- 2005.
I am a 66 years young woman and have been seeing
Fairies for many years. Sometimes they are formless, sometimes just
a ball off light flitting around my garden area. I moved from Massachusetts
to New Hampshire and thought they would stay behind, but low and
behold they have followed me 150 miles north into seacoast of New
Hampshire.
They are such interesting creatures to live with.
I leave honey, butter or milk in the garden for them. I cannot understand
why more people don't believe in Fairies and love them. I have never
encountered a nasty one, some have been playful and love to play
pranks, but all the ones I have encountered have been wonderful
to live with. I also work with Garden Devas and Nature Spirits.
It is amazing how my garden and area has improved since contacting
them.

One evening around dusk, I was helping a dear
friend of mine clear an area of land; it was actually a Pine tree
forest, for an event scheduled for the next evening. We set our
intention to clear the space, and had her Crystal Bowls set up to
play as well.
We opened our time together with a prayer, set
our intention for clearing and asked the Fairies for the blessing
as well. I had long believed in Fairies but never actually seen
one. She believed as well. We were probably playing the bowls for
about a half of an hour when as I was looking down at my hand going
round and round with the instrument to make the bowl sing,
I saw a small twinkling bright yellowish-white light. Then I saw
another one. I watched in amazement and held my breath in excitement.
I looked over at my friend and asked did you see that?
She said yes she did and we both felt so humble, excited, and grateful.
I felt so honored to able to see them. I hope to see them again
and remain open. I think the belief and purity of our intention
opened a sacred space for them to be scene with our human eyes.
