My name is Rhitu and I am 23 years old. I have always had a firm belief on fairies but had never been fortunate enough to encounter one. I am from Nepal and people here are not very aware about fairy and all such creatures, but since I had been studying a little about them I have been very interested. I am sending a picture with this email where you can clearly see something with a wing. It was photographed by my brother few months back. We were on the roof of our house, we did not see anything while my brother was taking the picture but when we checked the camera, we were surprised to see it there, and i knew it right then it was a fairy. It appears only in this picture and not in any other taken that night. I am sure it appeared in my picture because it wanted to let me know that whatever

I had faith in was not just a myth. I feel blessed. And I am sure someday I will surely have a direct encounter. I had been checking sites where i could share my picture with other believers but although I check your website regularly I was unaware that even I could write...(that's stupid of me) :) I am more than happy to share this picture with you.

I have always believed in fairies, and although I played with them for hours in the woods when I was a child, I do not have a memory of seeing one for real. Still, I have always believed - and took delight in sharing stories about fairies and where they live with my great niece who lives on a farm in Ontario near Niagara Falls. When she was 7 years old she was in the barn with her mother and took this picture. Her mother, my niece, said she did not see anything, but Hannah, the then 7 year old said she saw a fairie scratching the side of their beloved goat, "Clover". I have attached the photo - which I find pretty compelling. Clover is now a very old goat - but going strong.

My interest in fairies is so strong that I am taking time from my career to research a PhD thesis on the Belief in Fairies; and it is my hope to interview people who have had real encounters with fairies. It seems some people believe without ever seeing while others could have a fairie dance on their head and not be convinced!

I am 18 years old now. When I was about 8 or 9 I was in a beautiful park I used to regularly go to with my Gran and twin brother and I was running down the path to go and feed the ducks when I suddenly stopped and looked to the left of me and saw something hovering over a bush covered in flowers. As I realized it was a fairy I was amazed although I had already believed in them and always will. As I looked back at my Gran to see if she saw the fairy too she looked at me with a great smile and I knew she saw it too. I then looked at my brother but he was in his own world and never had believed in anything like this before anyway!! It didn't have any fairy dust around it but it was a female, about the size of a fist in heigth, had wings and longish brown hair and was the most beautiful thing. As I looked back in excitement she was gone but I knew and still do that I want dreaming!! I have not had any other sightings of a fairy but I know that they are very real and are still out their. My Gran and I still talk about it to this day and the rest of the family don't believe us but we are so blessed to have seen something so miraculous.

I swear tonight I wanted to see if I could catch more pictures of orbs...and came to find out a ‘fairy’ got on the lens and its clear as daylight. But I was outside and I am psyched. It looks the same as the sighting in Canada- no lie; realism is great proof.

I have decided to report my fairy sighting after many years as I am now even starting to question it myself- before I rationalise it away forever, perhaps it might be of some use to you. I saw the fairy in 1994 in Brisbane, Australia. I feel a need to qualify that I do not take drugs nor had I had any alcohol. I was in my, then, rented house at Everton Park and my 2 boys had gone to sleep. I went out onto the back open-air steps with my flatmate for a cigarette (yeah, yuk- I haven’t smoked for a decade now). He was at the bottom of the steps facing me; I was sitting at the top of the steps- looking out over the backyard and next door’s sidewall and roof. My flatmate was rambling on about a university assignment we both had due and was looking at me when it happened. She came over the neighbour’s roof and hung in the air about 2 meters from me. All I could do was stare and tell myself- “is this real?” She (and I use the term loosely) only stayed about 15 seconds before disappearing over the roof again. I straightaway asked my flatmate- did you see that? (in a very, very surprised tone- I could probably get back in contact with him to vouch for this as I told him what I saw straight after) By the way, he said “no”- he was too busy ranting at me, but he saw straight away that I was shaken. I have only just found your site and I have to say that a lot of your other sightings do not sound very much like what I saw. However, it is a long shot but maybe there are lots of different breeds of fairies and I just saw one kind. OK, my description has little to do with the whole “butterfly wing” thing in your other reports. The being was luminous, a kind of white/green light emanated. It had wings but they were more like dragonfly wings than butterfly. Its body was very long in proportions compared to a human, especially its very long legs. It was naked and it had visible breasts, but for some reason the word “she” just doesn’t feel right. Its face had large, dark, eyes that took up quite a lot of its face. It was so quick that all I really noticed on the face was the eyes- I wish I could say more about the face but I just didn’t see beyond this. I am not a big believer in anything and, as I said, I am starting to doubt and reason away what was a very real experience that I have no answer for. For that reason I am posting this and giving the web masters permission to use this story. But I would like to add, to those who seem caught up in the fairy, rainbow, and butterfly, style stories- I just want to add that I did not get any of those feelings when I saw the fairy. What I most felt was that this was more like a clever sub human or even insect species than a human, and whatever- it was not a thing that granted wishes but had a real menace about it. So sorry if my sighting does not fit what people want to believe. I really saw this and I am trying to convince myself nearly 17 years later that I didn’t. Anyone who has really seen a fairy would be a bit scared. I have, and I am.

I live near a college campus in Michigan and I go to school for filmmaking. I have seen all kinds of YouTube videos of the super normal and I laughed at them. Yesterday I changed my view because of what I experienced. At dusk I was riding my bike from the coffee house over to one of my friend's house. As I was riding near a high school I notice there was something flying around a light on the light post, I was thinking it was a bat. Because Bats like amber color lights, this light has a sensor that makes the light go on or off. I know bats are attracted to sensors. I decided to stop at this light post to watch it; this bat was flying around the light on the light pole. I watched it buzz around light above me for a moment, and then it started flying down left and right coming lower, I realize it was a large dragonfly not a bat. Flew down left and right pattern, slowly. Then it flew down towards me, and then flew at me and it took a dive, and then it flew in front of me over my head, after this pass. It stood in front of me, 5 feet away at my eye level, flying in a hovering, vertical, upright position, more like flying stationary upright, with dragonfly wings, 8 to 10 inches long it had legs and arms, wingspan 7 or 8 inches, same time this moment I realize this was a fairy or something unusual. I know a dragonfly cannot fly in an upright position stationary. Then continue flying upright in front of me for moment then moving left and right upright, and then came back flying around the pole. I watched it for minute or two, and then it flew away. I am not sure where this fairy came from, I wonder if it comes from a group of other fairies. I speculate if there are others in this area, I wonder. I believe there are many types of diversities for fairies. I could not believe my eyes what I saw, this was a once in lifetime experience. For myself, I notice too I had a sore back for a month, some reason it went away. Now every-time I ride my bike, taking same path where the fairy encounters, I will be hoping to encounter this fairy again. It was enchanting. I know what I saw, I believe in fairies.

I visited your website after googling fairy sightings. I am not a person who has ever taken a particular interest in the idea of fairies, beyond enjoying fairy stories as a child; as an adult I pride myself on my rationality and have never therefore held much of a belief in anything beyond the world that I can see. However, I have had what appears to be an unusual experience and could not help but wonder if this was something that others had experienced, or if there was a rational explanation for why I have had it. About seven years ago, when I lived in Spain, I was in bed one night and woke from a dream. My bedroom was very quiet and the light was on low, I was awake with my eyes wide open, but sleepy. I looked across my bedroom and saw two shapes flitting near my bedroom door, these shapes were translucent and had the appearance of fairies. Though I was looking directly at this vision, it was fleeting enough for me to be able to explain it away as a phenomenon caused by my sleepiness, the figures were indistinct. I have not thought much anbout this experience since, but last night I was in bed when once again I woke from a dream. On this occasion I felt wide awake whilst still being aware of the heaviness of sleep that had just left me. I looked up to the left of my bed and saw what appeared to be a fairy flying upwards. I was looking directly at the vision and it was quite clear to me, it was six inches in length, and not solid, but translucent, it also appeared to be wearing some sort of flowery purple dress. As the vision flew upwards it disappeared, but was then followed by another figure, this time in blue. When this happened, there was no light on in my room, the room was only lit by a little monnlight that had filtered through the curtains, if the room had been lit I would be inclined to think that what I saw was a trick of the light.

I would be interested to know what you make of my experience, was this some sort of hallucination due to sleepiness or was there really something there? If fairies do exist why have I seen them twice without trying to?

I have always been a believer in fairies. When I was younger, I was camping with my family in the mountains. I spent a lot of my time reading in the woods. One day when I was alone, I began speaking out into the trees, telling fairies that I believe in them and would love to speak to them. At that moment, I felt a fluttering in my ear that was very fast and very strong. My heart started beating quickly and I looked as the creature then floated right in front of my face, staring at me. It was a hummingbird. To this day however, I believe that the fairies made a connection with me when I called out for them, since it was at that exact moment and such a strange experience. During December 2004, I was on holiday with my best friend Courtenay and her family at a game reserve in Pietersburg, Mpumalanga. Game driving was first on the list of things to do. One morning, myself, Courtenay and Courtenays parents drove off into the reserve in the combi. We had been driving for sometime, with no luck of seeing any game but zebra,giraffe etc.. I was sitting on the right hand side of the combi, casually looking out of the window, when I saw something that I had never seen before, something I believed to be a mere myth, it was somehing extraordinary. Fluttering into the bush, was a little being - her skin was as pale as the moon and her hair black as the night, she was dressed in a tattered lilac dress and her wings weren't like the wings of a butterfly. Instead, she had multiple wings that resembled those of a dragonfly. I didn't speak a word of it till quite sometime later in the day. Courtenay did not believe me when I told her and of the few that I have told since, very few believe me. The instant is still vivid in my mind and I have no doubts of the ligitimacy of it.
