BRIDE'S MAID and WEDDING DRESSES
If
you go with tulle or tricot nylon draping as decorations, you can also
create skirts out of those same fabrics!
For skirts I take a narrow ribbed ribbon and cut long shards
of the tulle or nylon plus silver or gold ribbons, and attach them to
the ribbed ribbon by tying them on in varying lengths or use tiny dots
of hot glue to place them onto the ribbed ribbon which then ties on around
the waist.
I make fabric wings using a big triangle of fabric fold
close to a triangle by matching up opposite corners. The long folded edge
of the triangle goes across the chest, above the breasts, and the corners
brought around the back and tied by a square knot. The corner ends are
then fluffed out to create wings. If you want, you can purchase a small
version of a skirt, from me, to see how it is made.
If
you want to use store bought wings you can get the whiteones and use floral
coloring sprays to make them the colors you are going to use for the wedding.
Ribbons hanging from the back of the wings are airy and move prettily
as the maids move about. Wings can also be crafted from real feathers.
If you are not getting them from a store, but gathering them yourself,
place in a sealed bag of mothballs for several months to kill any creepy
crawlies. Air out them seal in bag with a perfume to dispel the moth ball
odor. Wouldnt peacock feathers be beautiful as a component for decorating?
