ROSE PETAL SUGAR

INGREDIENTS
1 CUP white sugar
2 CUPS fresh fragrant rose petals - shredded or minced

DIRECTIONS
Pound sugar and rose petals with a mortar and pestle. Place in a covered jar for one week. Sift out petal bits if desired and store in an airtight container.

ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS
Store sugar and lemon verbena or lemon mint (dried) leaves together. Use flavored sugar in (or on) desserts, muffins, pound cake and cookies or tea.
