INGREDIENTS
CAKE:
1/2 CUP butter
3/4 CUP sugar
6 egg yolks - keep the egg whites
1/4 CUP milk
3/4 CUP + 2 TBSP flour
1/2 TSP vanilla
2 PACKAGES Dream Whip
1 CUP chopped nuts of your choise if desired
Fresh or frozen cherries if desired
Peaches or perserves if desired
MERINGUE:
6 egg whites
1 cup sugar
DIRECTIONS
Mix cake ingredients and spread in 2 9" pans.
Whip 6 egg whites, gradually adding 1 cup sugar. Make sure there are no crystals.
Spread over raw batter and sprinkle 1 CUP of chopped nuts and cherries if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool and remove from pan.
Put on cake plate, making sure the meringue side stays on top.
When completely cool put 2 packages of Dream Whip between layers and on top. You may also put peaches or preserves on it.
